Shoog McDaniel is a fat, queer Floridian freak who has been creating art in the swamps since early age. They are inspired by Florida flora and fauna and the beautiful fatties they photograph. They love color and patterns and creating alternative worlds to escape the one they're in. They are a photographer by trade and themes of nature worship and fat liberation can be seen throughout their work. 

Bask Your Big Belly in the Sun is an illustrated rendering of fat bodies in communion with nature.  Growing up, Shoog saw no images that looked like their body in the picture books, and so they made one. This book, containing 26 watercolor illustrations, is a gift to their younger self, and to all the fat adults and kids out there that long to be a part of something when society often casts them out.
